William Clough Obituary, Death – It has not been determined what exactly led to the accident that took place on Sunday afternoon and resulted in the deaths of two people who were involved in a collision involving a motorbike and a vehicle. The event took occurred on Highway 55 close to Paynesville at approximately 1:30 p.m., as stated by the information that was posted on the website of the Minnesota State Patrol. The Paynesville police and fire departments, as well as the officers from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, the Centra Care ambulance, and the crew from LifeLink Air supported the State Patrol at the scene of the crash. Also present were the policemen from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
Two people were injured when a 2004 Buick LeSabre and an eastbound Harley Davison touring motorcycle collided on Highway 55. The motorcycle was carrying two passengers. Both cars were heading in the same general direction at the time. William James Clough, 53, and Melissa Anne Clough, 49, both of Mora, were riding on the motorcycle when it was involved in an accident. Neither of them survived the collision in which they were involved.
There is scant information available regarding the factors that contributed to the incident, but tragically, both Cloughs were killed in it. Melissa Clough passed suddenly as a result of her injuries while she was being treated at St. Cloud Hospital. However, her husband, William Clough, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Buick, a man in his 60s who lives in Long Prairie, was able to walk away from the crash without suffering any injuries.
