Wayne Sluys Obituary, Death – On May 20, 2023, at the age of 84, passed away at home among the presence of family in an environment that was serene. Corrie Sluys, his devoted wife of 61 years, passed away. She had been at his side for the majority of their life spent together as a married pair. He was left bereft. Beloved father of Gerry (Wilma) Sluys of Chepstow, Jacqueline (Ron) Knop of Bluevale, Wen (Alison Clark) Sluys of Clinton, Frank (Jelleke) Sluys of Listowel, Mark Sluys of Listowel, and Ed (Jennifer) Sluys of Richmond Hill. Also survived by seven grandchildren.
Additionally, seven grandkids were left behind. In addition, there were five grandchildren who were abandoned. A grandparent who is held in high esteem by all 20 of their grandkids as well as 11 of their great grandchildren. Following the passing of their mother, one brother and three of their sisters made the decision to remain in the Netherlands, whilst one of their sisters opted to remain in Australia. Before his time, four of his brothers had already left this world. In 1965, Wayne began his career as a farmer in the Netherlands, and the following year, Corrie followed him there to work alongside him. In 1989, they uprooted their life and moved to Canada, where they continued farming until 2011.
They lived in Canada until 2011. Wayne had an active involvement in the day-to-day activities of the farm during their time together. On the morning of Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the Listowel Evangelical Missionary Church, beginning at 10 am and continuing up to the time of the ceremony, the relatives and friends of the person who passed away will be received. This will commence at the start of the service and continue until the conclusion of the service. The beginning of the service will mark the beginning of this. The wake will get underway at eleven in the morning, and then the funeral ceremony will take place after that.
