Springfield IL Motorcycle Accident, Motorcyclist Dies in Springfield Crash

Springfield IL Motorcycle Accident – More information regarding the deadly motorbike accident that occurred in Springfield on Thursday is being made public by the Springfield Police Department. The driver of a huge box truck was reportedly travelling southbound on Dirksen at the time of the incident. He waited patiently in the Northfield turn lane in order to make the eastbound turn.

We’ve been told that the driver of the car reported seeing two motorbikes come out of the parking lot at Halls’ Harley Davidson and travel northbound on Dirksen towards him. The driver stated that when he made the turn, they were still a few hundred feet away from the destination. When the truck driver was almost entirely through the junction, he felt something hit the rear half of his truck on the passenger side. He looked behind and saw that something had hit his truck.

The driver eventually came to a stop, at which point he learned that the biker had crashed into the side of his truck, sustaining injuries as a result. The rider was transported to the hospital after emergency services were contacted, but he did not survive his injuries and passed away there a short while later. The evidence found at the site led the police to conclude that the motorcycle did not make any attempt to stop before driving into the box truck’s back tyres. It was stated by witnesses that the motorbike began to speed up, and when the rider swung his head around to check on his friend, he collided with the truck.
