Shooting In Columbia TN Today – An exchange of gunfire on Monday evening in Columbia resulted in the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man and the injury of four other individuals. Beech Street in Columbia was the location of a shooting that occurred at 6 o’clock in the evening. During the time that officers were responding to the scene, people who had been shot began arriving at local hospitals.

Columbia police reported The victim, identified as Thomas Jack Keiser, 19, died at the Maury Regional Medical Center after suffering several gunshot wounds. Another young man, this one 19 years old, was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center suffering from life-threatening injuries. According to reports from the Columbia police department, three additional people were taken to the hospital with injuries that did not pose a threat to their lives after being shot.

Investigators have a strong suspicion that eight males, all of whom are acquainted with one another, were involved in a major dispute that led to an exchange of gunfire. I’Yauntis Jamel Miller, 19, was detained and charged with second-degree murder as well as aggravated assault that resulted in death after the incident. This investigation is ongoing, and it’s possible that there will be other arrests made.
