Robert William Obituary, Death – It is with great sadness that we must inform you that Robert William (Bob) Goldsworthy, a former member of the LMRF Board of Directors, passed away on May 13, 2023 at his home in Toowoomba. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and all of his close friends. As a result of the news, we are experiencing an overwhelming sense of despondency right now.
Bob was presented with the Ray Phippard Fellow Award and the Professor Ian Frazer Humanitarian Award in recognition of the exceptional contributions he has made to the community and his dedication to the progress of medical research. These awards were given to Bob in consideration of the fact that he has received the Professor Ian Frazer Humanitarian Award. Bob ended up being the lucky receiver of both of the rewards that were established in his name. Our deepest condolences go out to Bob’s family, friends, and everyone else whose lives were enriched by having the opportunity to know Bob. We are deeply saddened by his passing. We are going to miss him tremendously. Gone but not forgotten.
Bob was appointed to his position as Director on the LMRF Board on November 29, 2014, and he continued to serve in that capacity right up to the day when he publicly offered his resignation on November 24, 2019. Bob was of the opinion that the study program that was made available by the Queensland and Northern New South Wales Lions Medical study Foundation improved the quality of life for an extremely large number of different persons.
