Robert Neilson Obituary, Death – Officer Robert “Rob” J. Neilson passed away on May 16, 2023, with his family by his side. He was a law enforcement officer. 58 years old as of now. Rob was born on September 12th, 1964 in the city of Saginaw. He received his education in Saginaw, Michigan, and then graduated from the Delta College Police Academy. Rob’s distinguished career in law enforcement included stints with the Saginaw Police Department, the Birch Run Village Police Department, and the Frankenmuth Police Department, where he spent the majority of his time.
Throughout the course of his career, Rob was honored for the service he provided, receiving numerous lifesaving honors as well as the award for Birch Run Police Officer of the Year in addition to numerous accolades from the Department. In addition to that, he worked as a Field Training Officer, a Defensive Tactics Instructor, a member of the Police Honor Guard, and a Medical First Responder, just to name a few of his previous jobs.
On May 14, 1988, Rob wed the woman formerly known as Karen Haines. She manages to live past him. Additionally, he is survived by one son, Evan, who is married to Samantha and lives in Lennon; one daughter, Karleigh, who lives in Frankenmuth; and two granddaughters, Easton and Eleanor. In addition, he is survived by one sister, Beth Neilson, one sister-in-law, Deborah Haines, and two brothers-in-law, Richard Haines (who is married to Suzette Gerard), and Scott Haines (who is married to Barbara). His mother, Sharon Glover, as well as his in-laws, Richard and Sally Haines, as well as his sister, Lisa, and nephew, Ajay, passed away before he did.
During Rob’s sickness, the family would like to express their gratitude to Heather, all of the doctors at the University of Michigan Medical Center, and the caregivers who were a part of the Covenant Visiting Nurses Association for the devoted care that they provided to Rob.
