Peggy Vanover Obituary, Death – Peggy Gibson Haggard Vanover, who was 80 years old when she passed away, was sent to the Continue Care Hospital in Madisonville, Kentucky. She passed away on May 20, 2023. She called the town of Sacramento in Kentucky her home. She was born on April 13, 1943, in Madisonville, Kentucky, to her late mother Clara Sneed Gibson and her late father Grover Cleveland Gibson, both of whom have since died away.

Her father predeceased her. Her most recent position was as a ward clerk at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, which was formerly located in her hometown of Madisonville. Quilting, attending church, and going on cruises were some of her favorite things to do in her spare time. Peggy was a dedicated member of the Life Apostolic Church, where she routinely attended services.

Both of her husbands, Howard Haggard and Larry Dale Vanover, passed away before she did. Howard Haggard was her first spouse, and Larry Dale Vanover was her second. The first members of her family to die away were her parents.
Surviving members of her family include her daughter, Kim Albin, who is married to Robert and lives in Sacramento, Kentucky; her brother, Bobby Cleveland Gibson, who resides in Madisonville; her granddaughters Payton Hargrove, who is married to Mike Nicklo, and Autumn Grates, who is married to Edward and both live in Fayetteville, North Carolina; and her loving companion, Bear.

Funeral services will be held on the evening of Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at twelve o’clock noon in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Brewer presiding over the ceremony. The service that follows will be held in Madisonville’s Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, which is located in Madisonville. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing up until the time of the funeral ceremony. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m.
