Peggy Brewer Obituary, Death – After a long and happy life, Peggy Marie Stacker Brewer passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 19, 2023. She had a full and happy life. She celebrated her 100th year on this earth. Peggy was born on February 10, 1923 in Adairville, Kentucky, in the home that her grandfather had constructed for the family. Her grandfather had also been Peggy’s maternal grandfather. Peggy was the name given to the girl who was the first child to be delivered to Samuel Stacker and Aliene Kroker Stacker. Ralph, her husband of 72 years, her daughter Linda Brewer, her brother Sam Stacker, and her grandson Jacob Brewer all predeceased her.
She was the only surviving member of her family. Even at a young age, Peggy shown an extraordinary amount of talent and potential. She also created and stitched all of her own clothing, which she sewed herself, and one of her hobbies was drawing landscapes. She was recognized for being a kind hostess in addition to the fact that she enjoyed the company of others. During the time that she and Ralph were married, she cooked dinner for him almost every night.
Peggy and Ralph exchanged vows on November 17, 1946, marking the beginning of their marriage. Peggy taught Sunday School, participated in the choir, and made many friends who would remain in her life for the rest of her life because of her involvement in the church. Peggy was the type of lady who would go to tremendous lengths to maintain her appearance and would shop till she dropped. Not only did she accessorize herself, but she was always thinking of new ways to make her house look nicer, and she did the majority of the painting and wallpapering herself. Peggy did not begin painting until she was well into her 50s when she first picked up a brush. Her work has been exhibited at a number of different festivals, and she still has portions of it at her home in Kentucky, as well as in the homes of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her work has also been displayed at a number of other locations.
