Ova Short Obituary, Death – Ova Lynn Short, a citizen of Hazard, Kentucky who had reached the age of 64 and was receiving care at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center, passed away there on Sunday, May 21, 2023. She had been a patient there since the previous week. Ova was a thoughtful and imaginative person who filled their spare time by sketching, reading, and watching Cincinnati football games. Off-road riding had been one of his most cherished activities from the beginning.
His great-grandmother Ova Short, his grandfather Ova Short, one of his brothers Earl Marcus Short, and one of his sisters Effie Charlotte Richie all went away before he did. His grandmother was named Ova and his grandfather was also named Ova. Both his mother and his father shared the name Ova Short with him. He was named after both of them.
Those he leaves behind include his mother, Elizabeth Short; three sisters, Jeanette Hudson (Harold), Hindman, Kentucky, Opal Short, Florida, and Bonnie Jean Short, Ohio; one brother, Ancel Short.

View Chapel is in charge of making the necessary arrangements, and they will be hosting a visitation on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM for members of the deceased person’s family as well as friends of the individual who passed away.
On Thursday, May 25, 2023, at twelve o’clock in the afternoon, the Maggard’s Mtn. View Chapel will be the location of the funeral service that will be held in honor of the deceased. The 25th of May was the birthday of the individual who has passed away. The funeral and burial will be held in the Curt Napier Cemetery located close to Lotts Creek, Kentucky. This particular location was chosen specifically for the purpose.
