Norma Holmes Obituary, Death – On Friday, our dear friend Norma Holmes passed away in a calm and serene manner. Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Tawas will be hosting services for Norma on Tuesday, May 30. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and the service will begin at 1:00 PM. During this trying time, we ask that you remember her and her family in your prayers. She moved to Vancouver after graduating from Langley High School in 1951 and that’s when she met her husband of 67 years.
Thomas Holmes. They have been married for 67 years. Norma and her husband Tom gave their three children, Douglas (Uraporn), Daniel, and Shannon (Agustin), a kind upbringing. She spent her entire life caring for her seven grandkids, Norman, Félix (Victoria), Raul, Pablo Jesus, Lola Mae, and Paloma, teaching them how to press leaves and taking them on walks to harvest blackberries. Julio was the youngest of the seven grandchildren. In addition to that, she became the proud great-grandmother of Autumn.
Her brother Raymond Brydon (Carol), who lives in Calgary, her cousin Jean Kerr, who lives in Abbottsford, as well as friends and family members from a wide range of locations, will always remember Norma with affection. Norma devoted her entire life to her profession as a Teacher’s Assistant at McBride Elementary School, where she served in that capacity for 27 years. She was also a committed member of South Hill United Church, which later became Oakridge United, where she spent many happy years participating in volunteer work and enjoying the company of her church family. Norma’s generosity and composure in the face of adversity served as an example to all of us, and she demonstrated to us the unquestionable therapeutic potential of a warm cookie.
