Nicolas Nuno Obituary, Death – Nicolas Nuno has died. According to MTA spokeswoman Meredith Daniels, the student was injured approximately 3:30 p.m. when they were hit by a train traveling in the opposite direction, northbound. The Botanical Garden station was being traversed by the train, but there was no intention for it to stop there. Officials from the law enforcement agency stated that it appeared as though the youngster had leaped in front of the train.

The Fordham neighborhood was advised of Metro-North delays on Monday afternoon due to police activity at the Botanical Garden station. This activity was likely related to the incident that had occurred earlier. The associate vice president of the Department of Public Safety at Fordham University, John Carroll, has stated that at the time he sent the email, he was unaware that the victim was a student at Fordham Prep.

The Preparatory School addressed the event in a statement that was released on Tuesday afternoon. The statement added that the whole Fordham Prep community has been left in a state of deep shock and sadness following the unexpected and tragic loss of a member of our sophomore class that occurred yesterday evening. We are in constant communication with the family of the young man, and we have assured them that our thoughts, prayers, and support are with them during this difficult time. A student from Fordham Prep has tragically lost their life after being struck by a train for the second time in less than a month. On January 18, a Metro-North train struck and killed Fordham Prep Sophomore Owen Kelly at the Philipse Manor station in Sleepy Hollow, which is located in Westchester County. According to the police, he had intentionally walked in front of the train.
