I ask God to give you the peace that passes all understanding. Michael A. Talty, who was 42 years old and had been born on August 25, 1976, tragically passed away at his home on August 9, 2019. Michael was the treasured stepson of Heather I. Talty of Springfield and Mark Penndorf, also of Springfield. He was the beloved son of William P. Talty and Angela M. Manzi, who both resided in Springfield. Michael passed away in Springfield. Michael has been worked by the City of Springfield for the past 23 years.
He spent his most recent position working at Washington Street School, where he made an indelible mark on both the adults and children that attended the school. He served as a bartender at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7352 in Forest Park for more than 20 years, in addition to being a member of the Springfield Lodge of Elks #61. Because he was always willing to help others, Michael will be remembered fondly for this trait. He would drop everything to assist a person in need, no matter if they were a member of his own family, a friend, or even just a casual acquaintance. His laugh was contagious, and his smile was irresistible. He possessed a remarkable personality along with a pure and good heart.
Michael was a dedicated son who went on “Keno dates” with his cherished mother virtually every Saturday and spent endless hours rooting for Boston sports teams with his father. Michael was born and raised in Boston. Michael and Leslie Rose, the love of his life, shared a connection that was the stuff that others could only dream about having. They brought out the most admirable qualities in one another. Michael really anticipated spending time with his extended family, particularly his nieces and nephew, so that he could make their trips as enjoyable as possible.
