Sheriff Mark Whittaker stated that when the authorities arrived at the location, they found a motorcycle in a field with a single driver, identified as Monnin, who had been pronounced dead. An initial investigation indicated that a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling westbound on Jamison Road when it became unable to navigate a little curve in the road and ended up in a ditch off to the side of the road.

A gentleman from Versailles was riding a motorcycle when he was killed in an accident on Tuesday evening. Matthew Monnin, 32 years old, was confirmed identified as the individual who was killed in the collision by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office. Monnin was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. According to an earlier report by News Center 7, after receiving reports of a collision involving a motorcycle, emergency officials from Versailles, Darke County, and the fire department were rushed to the 9300 block of Jamison Road in Versailles. The incident reportedly included a motorcycle.
