Massive Fire South Park Charlotte NC, Rescued Crane Worker in South Park Fire

Massive Fire South Park Charlotte NC – On Thursday morning, a terrible situation occurred in SouthPark as firefighters fought a large fire at a property from below. The fire was in the basement of the building. While the rest of the crew tackled the fire from below, one of them was hanging precariously from the upper deck. On Thursday morning about nine o’clock, there was a fire that broke out in an apartment complex that was still in the process of being constructed. The fire swiftly spread to all five alarms in the building.

When our teams flew over the site in Chopper 9 Skyzoom, they were able to spot one construction worker who was stuck on top of a crane that was above the apartment tower. The worker was in a precarious position. While the operator of the crane waited for assistance, the cab of the crane was engulfed in a thick cloud of smoke, which also engulfed the surrounding area. The construction worker was still toiling away atop the crane even though it was getting close to 10:30 in the morning.

In a statement that was released to Channel 9 on Thursday, Mill Creek said, “The health and safety of the people who were working there today and those in the surrounding area is our number one priority.” We are thinking about and praying for the individuals who were impacted, as well as the friends and family members of those individuals. We are now collecting as much information as we possibly can on what occurred, and we will take the appropriate steps to remedy the incident that occurred earlier today. Construction worker Demonte Sherrill, who was 30 years old, was said to have perished in the fire, according to his relatives. According to the Charlotte Fire Department, another victim has been found to have passed away.
