Margaret Erdman Obituary, Death – Margaret Jo-Anne “Joy” Erdman (Lampson), who was 85 years old when she died away, did so in a tranquil and serene manner on May 8, 2023 at the SunCoast Hospice in Palm Harbour, Florida. Margaret is survived by her husband, David Erdman of Palm Harbor, her daughters Kirsten Rhoads (Doug) of Eudora, KS, Alison Richards (Carl) of Tampa, FL, and Lauren Erdman (Paul Donner) of Albuquerque, NM, her sister Kathleen Kim Lampson Reiff (Dan) of Mercer Island, WA, and four grandchildren; Dale Roussel (Lawrence, KS), David Richards and Orion Richards (Tampa, FL), and Wyatt Donner (Albuquerque, NM).
Margaret was raised in the town of Verona in the state of New Jersey. In 1960, she was awarded a degree from Bates College, and it was during her time there that she initially made the acquaintance of David Erdman, who would later become her husband. She landed a job at the Perkins School for the Blind after she graduated from high school, and she worked there until she was married to David and moved to Germany to be with him while he was in the military there.
Margaret had a lovely time when she was living in Germany, and she made friends with the children in her host family in order to increase her proficiency in German. In Germany, she had the opportunity to begin following her artistic talents, and she made the most of that opportunity. She moved to Germany. Margaret and David went back to their old jobs as teachers at the Perkins School for the Blind after an absence of two years. During that time, they had been away from the institution.
