Her parents, Dave Snodgrass and Virginia Carter, and her husband, Denny Roof, all departed before she did. Her husband was the first to go. Her departure came after they had already parted ways with everyone else. She was the only member of her family to have reached an advanced age and she was the only one who did. In addition to this, the person to whom she had given her vows had already passed away prior to her own passing. Her family includes her daughter Angie Washburn (along with her husband Dave), her step-daughter Lori Manville (along with her husband Chuck).

Her siblings Jeff Vanoy and Dana Bemish, her grandchildren Connor Washburn, Noah Washburn, Luke Washburn, and Chase Manville, her brother-in-law Greg Roof (along with his wife Lori), her step-mother Pat Snodgrass, and her step-sister Linda King, as well as her pets Katie and Cora. In addition to members of her extended family, who she maintained close relationships with throughout her life, she is also survived by a sizable group of friends who were important to her.
