Johnny Elbows Obituary, Death – Johnny Elbows, who resided in College Station and was 65 years old at the time of his death on May 16, 2023, passed away. In recent years, he has fought myelofibrosis, and this fight has shown the strength it takes to grin in the face of life’s hardships. “JB” remained resilient throughout it all and continued to make others laugh by telling “dad” jokes even after everything that had happened.

After working for the Burns Floral Company, also known as “Son and Burns Floral Company,” for a short period of time, Johnny went on to spend the next 42 years of his life working for Lamar Advertising. He worked in a number of intriguing locations, such as Agusta, Georgia and Midland, Texas, but he spent the last 15 years of his career as the General Manager at the Bryan/College Station Lamar site, where he had been “Foolin’ Harvard Grads for 4 decades!

Johnny spent 41 years of his life married to the woman who was the love of his life, Patty. They had a boundless zeal for life, a deep affection for all things Texas A&M, and an unwavering commitment to the people in their family and circle of friends. They were blessed with three daughters, Jennifer, Sara, and Avery, each of whom embodies a unique facet of Johnny’s personality and will continue to honor and celebrate his legacy in our thoughts and memories.

Johnny spent his childhood in Brownsville, Texas, and received his high school diploma from Brownsville High School in 1975. Although he was born in Bryan, Texas, Johnny spent his childhood there. After high school, he enrolled in his dream school, Texas A&M University, where he “frogged in” as a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band and went on to earn a degree in Business Management in 1979.
