John Weir Nephew Obituary, Death – On May 12th, John Weir Nephew died away while residing at Pine Harbour Assisted Living. He was surrounded by his devoted family, friends, and the compassionate caregivers at Pine Harbour. John’s birthday is December 15th, 1937, and he was born in Plattsburgh, New York. His mother, Katheryn M. Weir, father, Charles T. Nephew Sr., brother, Dr. Charles T. Nephew Jr., niece, Tia A. Ayres, and brother-in-law, Denis J. Chasse all passed away before him. He was the last member of his immediate family to pass away.

John worked as a representative for Colony Liquor for forty years and was honored with a number of accolades for his outstanding salesmanship throughout that time. He received an Honors in English degree from St. Michael’s College in Burlington, Vermont, after graduating from St. John’s School and LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York, respectively. In addition to that, he attended Albany Law School up to the time when his mother passed away in 1961, which prompted him to come back to Plattsburgh to assist with the family businesses.

John was a member of the Elks Club in addition to having served in the Army Reserves. John had a reputation for being a hard worker even as a young guy. At the age of nine, he began his career as a paperboy and sang at funerals and weddings. He later became a professional singer. Additionally, he performed on the drums at St. John’s Academy, the piano under the tutelage of his instructor, Al Delano, and was a member of the quartet at Le Moyne College.
