Jessica Gean Obituary Dennington KS, Jessica Gean Has Passed Away – Death Cause

Jessica Gean Obituary Death – Jessica Jo Gean, age 49, passed away at the family residence located north of Protection, Kansas on the 21st of May, 2023. She was the daughter of her parents, Kenneth Gean and Janice (Huck) Gean Moore, and was born on October 10, 1973 in Greensburg, Kansas. Jessica acquired her high school diploma from Protection High School in Protection, Kansas in 1992, went on to complete her studies at Barton County Community College, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Kansas State University in 1996, and completed her Master of Arts in Education studies at Fort Hays State University in 2011.

She participated in both the K.N.E.A. and the Kiowa Creek 4-H clubs. She enjoyed supporting Brenna and Zach in their activities, hanging out with her little buddy Hudson, and going on road trips with Traci. Jackson and Emmarie showing their animals was one of her favorite things to watch. She was a devoted supporter of both the Kansas State Wildcats and the Kansas City Chiefs. She was very devoted to her two kitties and also enjoyed singing and playing the piano in her spare time. She is survived by her mother, Janice Moore, who resides in Coldwater, Kansas; her one brother, Randyl Gean (Katresa), who resides in Protection, Kansas; their nephew and niece, Jackson and Emmarie Gean; their sister, Erica Gean, who is in Wichita, Kansas; other “sisters” named Traci, Pam, Nicci, and Jaymi; and a large number of other relatives and friends.

She began her career as an educator in 1999 and 2000, when she was assigned to teach third grade in Greensburg, Kansas. After that, she worked as a teacher of special education at South Central Elementary School in Protection, Kansas, from the years 2000 to 2014; she then worked as a teacher of the fifth grade in Lincoln, Kansas, from 2016 to 2017; and she has been working as a teacher of special education in Bennington, Kansas, from 2017 to the present. Jessica was a member of the Bennington Bible Church and lived in the Lincoln neighborhood of Kansas City.

Donations in memory of Jackson and Emmarie Gean should be sent to the Comanche County Fair Board or the Jackson and Emmarie Gean Education Fund and should be sent care of the Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, located at P.O. Box 417 in Coldwater, Kansas 67029.
