Jason McConnell Obituary, Death – The phone of Honystye Chancellor began to be swamped with calls from members of her immediate family as well as close friends at roughly 2:30 in the morning on Sunday. She’d pick up one phone, then quickly receive two more at the same time without pausing for a moment. They told her that her stepfather, Jason McConnell, who was 41 years old and worked security at the Klymax Lounge, which is located at 4242 Indiana Avenue, had been shot while he was on the job there.
Chancellor made a beeline for the area, which was rapidly becoming overwhelmed with clubgoers and police officers. Chancellor arrived just in time. She raced to Klymax after parking her car a little distance away and then rushing over there. Chancellor learned through clubgoers that her stepfather, who was working at the door that night, was one of three people killed in a shooting that also left two other people injured.
Chancellor’s stepfather was one of the men who was killed in the shooting. One of the victims of the shooting was Chancellor’s stepfather, who passed away as a result of the incident. She was informed by members of the audience that the local rapper known as Nutty Still Gassin’ had just finished his set and was on his way out of the club when the shooting happened.
At this point, the authorities in Kansas City have not been able to determine the identities of those who were shot and killed there. However, according to Chancellor, people of the club knew McConnell because he was friendly and could strike up a discussion with anyone. McConnell was described as being “approachable.” Visit the website listed below for more information regarding this incident: https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/crime/article275640031.html#storylink=cpy
