Jana Sixkiller Obituary, Death – After completing her high school education at Westville, she went on to earn a number of credentials in addition to her associate’s degree. She enjoyed fishing, hiking, and was willing to try anything once, particularly if it was free. When she wasn’t working, you could find her in the kitchen, whipping up something mouthwatering to eat—her frybread deserves special recognition.
She is survived by her dad, Dale Sixkiller of Sallisaw, OK; mom, Joann Sixkiller of Tahlequah, OK; her children, Tyara Thomas, Daylon Thomas, Destin Polina, Gabrielle Polina, Nadia Polina; special friend, Matthew Elliot of Springdale, AR; brothers, Marcus Sixkiller of Springdale, AR., and Jeremy Sixkiller and wife, Shantana of Tahlequah, OK; nieces, Tanika Sixkiller and Kyzlee Sixkiller; numerous cousins; countless friends; and many other loved ones.
Her parents, Jim and Annie Sixkiller, as well as her brother, Tommy Sixkiller, all passed away before she did. On Monday, May 22, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, there will be a visitation held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home. On the Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 2:00 pm, a memorial ceremony will be performed at the Illinois River Baptist Church in Chewey, Oklahoma, with Bro. Leo Bird serving as the officiant.
At the Northwest Medical Center in Springdale on Monday, May 15, 2023, Jana Adelle Sixkiller, age 39, died away without any discomfort. Jana entered the world on February 15, 1984 in the city of Tahlequah in the state of Oklahoma. She was brought up by her parents, Jim and Annie Sixkiller, in Chewey, Oklahoma, where she spent her childhood making the most of every moment by socializing with other children and playing outside.
