James Hyde Obituary, James Hyde Has Passed Away – Death Cause

James Hyde Obituary, Death – After a brief battle with illness, James Stewart Hyde, age 90, from Dousman, Wisconsin, passed away on August 13, 2022 in the comfort of his own home. Jim Hyde was conceived by his parents, Melvin and Claudia, in 1932 and delivered in Mitchell, South Dakota. After completing his high school education at Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa, he attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physics in 1954 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in solid-state physics in 1959. During the summer of 1959, he went on a date that was arranged for him with Karen Anderson of Exeter, California.

The date was a blind date. They were married within the first four months of dating, and in December of last year, they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. In the early part of his career, Jim worked as a scientist with Varian Associates. Later in his life, he became a research professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). In addition to that, he oversaw the MCW branch of the National Biomedical EPR Center as its Director. In addition to being the owner of 35 patents issued by the United States of America, he is the author of over 400 scholarly publications and review articles.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), functional magnetic resonance imaging, and resting state functional connectivity MRI are all areas in which he made significant contributions and advancements. However, one of his most significant legacies will be the students and colleagues whom he has inspired throughout the course of his career. He was a significant guide and an important catalyst for fresh ideas and new lines of investigation. He continued to work at the Medical College long after he had the opportunity to retire because he was confident that he still had important contributions to make. It is likely impossible to enumerate all of Jim’s interests because of how many and diverse they are. When his children were younger, he was an ardent backcountry traveler, skier, and fisherman, and as a result, they have many strong recollections of those younger years.
