Jacob Bates Obituary, Death – Jacob Allen Bates, age 18, of West, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening, February 8, 2018, as a consequence of injuries he sustained in a vehicle accident close to Elm Mott. His cause of death was listed as injuries sustained in the collision. On Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at 4:00 p.m., funeral services will be held in the Gymnasium at West High School, and Minister Ernie Albrecht will preside over the ceremonies.
He had already completed his primary and middle schooling at the same location, making him a senior at West High School. During the course of his high school career, Jacob was the first athlete at West to receive a letter in each of the four sports he participated in (football, basketball, and baseball; in addition, he played on the 7 on 7 football team). In 2016, he was a member of the West Trojans baseball team that took first place in the state tournament.
The burial will take place at White Rock Cemetery immediately following the service. Tuesday evening, from four in the afternoon to eight o’clock, members of the family will be present in the chapel of the Aderhold Funeral Home to meet and welcome visitors. Jacob Bates is the son of Eric Allen Bates and Jaime Lee (Busby) Bates. Eric Allen Bates and Jaime Lee (Busby) Bates had him. On June 15, 1999, Jacob was brought into the world in Waco.
