Jackie Daniels Obituary, Death – Steven and Robert gave outstanding service to our club both as underage players and as adult players. She was active in the organization of many fundraising and social events, but the thing that she will be most warmly remembered for is her great work as first aid officer to countless teams over the course of the years. She sat on the juvenile committee of the club for a number of years, and she served in that capacity for a number of years.
She was also a tremendous supporter from the beginning of our newly created Camogie Club and particularly endeared herself to our girls from the Presentation Primary school, where she worked for many years. Our club had just been established.
Jackie’s warmth and concern would have been seen by hundreds of De La Salle players, both young and old, on a first-hand basis thanks to his participation in that organization. A significant amount of time was invested in attending to injuries and ensuring that our injured young players received the appropriate care, both during and after the games in which they participated.
The well-being of Jackie’s children, particularly her sons Steven and Robert, as well as her daughter Kate, was the most important thing in her life, and she took great pride in the athletic accomplishments of all three of her children. Jackie was able to give so generously to her cherished De La Salle GAA Club despite the fact that she was juggling a full-time job and the responsibilities of raising a young family.
