As soon as we obtain the specifics, we will let the public know about the funeral preparations. On January 26, just before 5 p.m., off the coast of Little River, a call came in from a boater reporting trouble and prompting the beginning of the search for Doyle.
The incident resulted in the launch of a joint search and rescue operation by multiple agencies, which ultimately included workers from both South Carolina and North Carolina. The news agency reported that the friend was unable to spot Tyler as he rounded the south jetty. Shortly after that, Doyle called his friend and relayed the following information: “the boat was having mechanical issues and he couldn’t keep the motor running and the boat was taking on water,” according to the police department.
According to the report from the SCDNR, Doyle’s companion flagged down another boat and attempted to go to Tyler, but due to the poor water conditions, they were forced to turn around. The friend was saved, and Tyler’s boat was discovered submerged in the water with the bow up and the motor down. There was just a foot of the boat that was visible above the water. The temperature of the air was 39 degrees, but the temperature of the water was 50 degrees, according to the rescue workers.
