Harold Hamilton Obituary, Death – The tragic news that a BROKEN ARROW LEGEND has died away is accompanied by our heartfelt sympathies, and we are sorry that it is up to us to be the ones to deliver this devastating information to you. It is unfortunate that we are the ones who must be the ones to deliver the bad news to you. As an immediate and unavoidable consequence of this choice, the honor bestowed upon Coach Harold Hamilton will ensure that his legacy will live on indefinitely. Both the first year of Childers Middle School and the commencement of Coach Hammy’s coaching career in Broken Arrow began in the year 1986.
That same year also marked the opening of Childers Middle School. Additionally, it was the first year that the school was truly open to students. This was a first for the institution. When he reached the point in his life in 2017 that he thought it was finally the right time to hang up his teaching and coaching hats at the university, he had already spent more than three decades of his life there, both instructing students and coaching athletes. While he was still employed as a teacher of technical education, his pupils and the athletes that he coached looked up to him as a true source of support and as a role model.
This was the case even though he was still in the workforce. Throughout the entirety of his coaching career, he worked with athletes that competed in the sports of track and field, wrestling, and football. The impact that he had on the lives of his students will continue to have an effect for a good number of years into the future because of the echoing effect that it will continue to have on the lives of individuals. I pray that God would bestow upon you the peace that your heart so desperately needs and that he will grant you that peace.
