Geoff Riddell Obituary, Geoff Riddell Has Passed Away – Death Cause

Geoff Riddell Obituary, Death – Southland Stockcar Drivers Association would like to express their condolences to Geoff Riddell’s (Grandad) family and friends on the passing of Geoff Riddell today. Geoff was the “go to” man at Riverside Speedway, where he worked for a number of years and covered a variety of jobs. During this extremely difficult time, we would like to offer our deepest condolences to Geoff’s family and friends.

He had a deep and abiding love for his wife and children, his work, and each and every friend he had acquired in the many different places he had lived while he was growing up. And it goes without saying that he delighted in his preoccupation. SWIMMING! When Geoff was 8 years old, he took a leap of faith and dove into the pool in the neighborhood where he lived in Omaha. After observing that he had inherent talent, the instructor requested that his mother enter him in the competition.

He not only won the first but went on to win countless more triumphs around the country over the course of decades. After that, he joined the swim teams at Homewood Flossmoor High School, Cedar Rapids Washington High School, North Carolina State University, as well as the Schroeder and Elmbrook Masters organizations, where he competed at a high level. As he traveled, he challenged himself by swimming in open water in Lake Michigan, Maui, the Mediterranean, and Mexico.

When he was 16 years old and lived in Cedar Rapids at the time, his father made the observation that dentists appear to have a fulfilling existence. He made a mental note of it, and many years later, he decided to make it his mission to preserve and encourage as many smiles as possible. He took part in activities that advanced his knowledge and eventually became the dentist for the Milwaukee Brewers club. Unfortunately, he was forced into retirement a lot earlier than he had expected due to health problems.
