Elaine Boll Obituary, Death – On Sunday, May 21, 2023, Elaine Boll, who was 84 years old, passed away. On October 30th, 1938, she was born in Astoria, Queens, New York, to her parents, Edmund Reuter and Frances Reuter (Cohn). Elaine and her family settled in East Rockaway when she was young. She received her diploma from East Rockaway High School after completing her education at Centre Avenue Elementary School. She had lived in East Rockaway her entire life and was quite involved in the community there. She was a member of the East Rockaway School Board for three different terms, during which she also held the position of Vice President.

Elaine was a member of the East Rockaway Village board and served in multiple capacities, including that of Deputy Mayor and as a trustee. She was awarded for her devoted service as Alumni Association Treasurer for many years, which earned her the title of 1994 East Rockaway High School Alumna of the Year and made her a founding Officer of the East Rockaway Alumni Association. Both the ER Kiwanis Club and the ER Trade Association counted her as a member at one point. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for her entire life and even held the position of Grand Matron when she was younger. Elaine possessed qualities such as generosity, passion, determination, and feistiness. She was the kind of person who would do anything to assist a buddy in distress.

She has a soft spot for creatures of all kinds and, over the years, has taken in stray cats, rabbits, birds, hamsters, and gerbils that were brought into the house by her children. She had two Yorkie Terriers named Pixie and Skooter, and she adored them both. Elaine spent her career as a licensed property and casualty insurance broker at NGL Insurance in Lynbrook, where she eventually retired. In the winters, she traveled to Florida to spend time at Colonial Estates in Boynton Beach with her husband and their friends.

Additionally, she visited her pals from the Cherokee Preserve Club in Bethel, New York during this period. Elaine looked forward to seeing her best friend Barbara Schaefer whenever she could go shopping and spend time together. She found the most joy in spending time with her children and husband. She never forgot anyone’s birthday or any other important event. She enjoyed being known as Grandma or “Granny E” the most of all. Elaine has lost her husband, Richard C. Boll, who was her high school sweetheart. They celebrated 56 years of marriage together.
