Dewayne Bennich Obituary, Death – This makes me feel sick to my stomach on the inside. It is with deep regret that I must inform you that the Class of 1980 has lost yet another member. The news that Dewayne Bennich had passed away was relayed to me by a good friend and someone I could rely on yesterday evening. It has been brought to my attention that Carol, Keaton, Ms. Edith, and the other members of the Bennich family would be quite appreciative if you could pray for them.
The loss of Dewayne Bennich has caused a great lot of sadness to be brought into our world. The kindest and funniest person I’ve ever had the privilege of getting to know. There was never a point in time when I observed him that he was not giggling. I hope that you are finally able to get some rest, my dear friend.There is no question in my mind that this is one of the most fascinating people I have ever had the honor of interacting with.
Whenever I went in to see him, he was always such a gentleman, and he always made time for us to talk about the good old days of football and school. I will never forget that. It’s impossible for me to believe; may God have compassion on him and his family. His death has dealt a tremendous blow not only to his family and friends, but to the entire community of Hartselle as well.
To EACH AND EVERY person who had the privilege of ever having the opportunity to know him, he shone like a light of hope. He was the most sociable person in the room (or garage, in most instances), always had an intriguing story to tell, and he never met anyone he didn’t already know. His departure will be a source of sorrow for all of those who knew him, and I consider it a blessing that I was able to call him a friend. I look forward to seeing you again, Dewayne, but until then, may you have safe travels. All of the members of Dewayne’s family are in every one of my thoughts and prayers as we go through this terribly difficult time. Please accept my condolences.
