Derrick McKenzie Obituary, Death – An individual from Earle, Arkansas is being questioned as a suspected participant in the homicide that occurred in Crittenden County on Tuesday evening, involving the gunshot death of another person. There are strong indications that the victim was shot multiple times. The victim, a guy named Derrick Lee McKenzie who was 38 years old, was able to alert deputies who shot him; nevertheless, he ultimately lost his life when he was rushed to the hospital in an emergency scenario.
The victim was in critical condition. It has been reported by the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Department that the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident. On Wednesday morning, law enforcement officials made an arrest on Railroad Street after determining that the suspect was Quency Kegler, age 28, and taking him into jail. Earlier, the detectives had been successful in getting the warrants required for his arrest. These warrants were necessary in order to place him under custody.
The deputy who responded to the scene was able to identify the shooter. The identity of the person who had passed away was eventually established by the police to be Derrick Lee McKenzie. At at 11 o’clock in the evening, officers and detectives from the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the 300 Block of Third Street Circle in Earle, where they discovered a male who had been shot multiple times.
A number of charges were brought against Kegler, the most serious of which was first-degree murder. He was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm after having been convicted of a felony in the past.
