David Kreis Obituary, Death And Funeral

David Kreis Obituary, Death – David Charles “Dave” Kreis, 66 years old, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at his home after a gallant battle against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He had been battling the disease for many years. His late parents, Roy W. Kreis and Immogene Ragor Kreis, gave birth to him in Zanesville, Ohio, on October 2, 1956. His parents had passed away prior to his birth. In 1975, he received his diploma from Tri-Valley High School, where he was honored by his classmates as the pupil who possessed the highest probability of realizing his ambitions.

Dave considered his faith, his family, and the town he lived in to be the three most significant aspects of his existence. He was a devoted adherent of Jesus Christ and an active member of the North Terrace Church of Christ, which served as the center of the congregation’s spiritual life. He had 45 years of experience as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist, during which time he specialized in the field of home medical equipment and handled many offices for Northside Oxygen.

During his tenure, Northside Oxygen became one of the most successful companies in its industry. After 30 years of service, he retired as the Fire Chief of the Washington Township Fire Department, where he had previously served as President and EMS Squad Captain. Prior to that, he had been a member of the department for many years. He was on the Board of Directors for the Muskingum County Cattleman’s Association and had been on the Board of Directors for the Muskingum County Fair for the preceding 18 years, during which time he held the positions of Treasurer, Vice President, and President of the Board.

He was also on the Board of Directors for the Muskingum County Cattleman’s Association. He had spent his entire life working on farms, where he had raised pigs and beef cattle for the local 4-H club. His notoriety as “The Pumpkin Man on Adamsville Road” and “Papaw with the piggies” preceded him for a sizeable amount of his life. He was known for growing pumpkins and keeping pigs as pets. When asked if he had been successful, his response was, “I did succeed, just look around me.” Becoming a father was without a doubt the most important accomplishment of his life.
