If you had any kind of relationship with David, you are well aware of the depth of his affection for you. He loved large. He loved deep. Keep him close to you and don’t forget the happy times you shared.

Marietta gave me a call first thing this morning. I couldn’t help but break down and cry. I cannot express how sorry I am for your loss! He was such an incredible example of humanity! Know that everyone is praying for you right now! Oh, that John Williams score… My thoughts and prayers are with each and every member of your family. Throughout our time together in high school, David Boyd Williams was one of the most considerate and mild-mannered adults I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing, and I was proud to count him as one of my closest friends.

When we were in our twenties, he was a close buddy, someone we could confide in, and a sounding board. During the time that my mother was passing away, he was a rock. He made it a point to be there for me when I attended the funerals of both of my parents. That is the kind of person he was in general. Without him, the world as we know it will cease to exist. My sincerest condolences go out to you, your children, and the rest of your family on the loss of your mother. Congratulations, you have been a good and devoted servant.
