Daniel Morgan Obituary, Death – On May 16, 2023, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Dr. Daniel Lamar Morgan passed away at the age of 42. Dr. Arthur Lamar Morgan and Martha Fernald Morgan welcomed their son Daniel into the world on July 27, 1980 in the city of Pensacola, Florida. Daniel practiced the Episcopal religion and was an active participant in the St. James Episcopal Church community. Daniel graduated from Taylor County High School in 1998 and was a member of our lone state championship football team while he was there.
He played tight end for the team. In 2002, he attended Florida State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in physiology from that institution. The following year, in 2003, he graduated with a Master of Science degree in health sciences from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. Three years later, in 2007, he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern School of Dentistry.
After that, he moved to Colorado to carry on his dental practice there, but before that, he returned to Perry to work alongside his father and, later, his brother, Dr. Benjamin Morgan, at the Morgan Family Dentistry until 2017. After that, he relocated to Colorado. Daniel went on two different mission trips to Jamaica in order to provide dental treatment to those who, in the absence of these services, would not have access to them.
He was a former member of the Perry Elks Lodge in addition to being an enthusiastic supporter of Florida State University and a devoted follower of all of the university’s athletic teams. His favorite things to do in his spare time were activities outside, such as hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He was devoted to his family, enjoyed going on trips with them, and appreciated the time he got to spend with his daughters. They will always refer to him fondly as “Daddy D.
