Bruce Biada Obituary, Death – We are breaking the news to you with such a heavy heart that we lost our beloved tap teacher Bruce Biada last night. Our hearts are filled with sorrow as we tell you this. Please accept our sincere sympathies. We are saddened by the demise of such an extraordinary human being who was also an educator. Because his tap classes were so well attended by students of many ages and levels of expertise, Bruce was a much-loved instructor at ODC for a good portion of its history.
In particular, he is remembered for the senior tap class that he taught, which became famous. He had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor in addition to his outstanding generosity, kindness, and patience as a teacher. He was also very generous. We will never forget the choreographic pieces he developed for so many tap courses because they never failed to feature his off-beat humor, wackiness, and inventive topic selections. These pieces will live on in our memories forever.
These remembrances will remain with us for the rest of our lives. Bruce was a regular in our Town Hall area at ODC, where he would greet students, other faculty members, and staff members both before and after he taught sessions. He was a kind face that everyone looked forward to seeing. Not just inside the walls of ODC, but also outside of them, he had a huge influence on the growth of the community that was being formed. We shall never forget him or the amount of joy that he brought into the lives of a great number of other people.
